About Me
I am a level-3 qualified mat Pilates instructor, teaching classical Pilates. I was taught by the incredible Joanne Cobbe of J Pilates, who really showed me the amazing power of Pilates.
I have been practising Pilates for 3 and a half years now and started due to having chronic pain. I found it helped calm my body and gave me a mental focus. I was lucky enough to practice Pilates throughout my whole pregnancy too, which was amazing to keep my whole body moving and as soon as I was able to post pregnancy, I jumped straight back into classes!
How I teach
Although Joseph Pilates created the repertoire of exercises, at the full level, the majority of people will not be able to achieve the exercise correctly. I will always work to the level required for the client in front of me. There is no point in trying to do the full exercises, if we do not have the fundamentals of the exercises behind us. I will never sway far from the repertoire Joseph Pilates gave us, as he really did give us everything we needed.
I love to continue to build on my knowledge, learning new ways I can help my clients, to build stronger and greater mobility within their bodies.
Once I have completed my Reformer and Barrel training, I am looking forward to working with clients on a more individual basis, with 1:1 sessions. This will give me the ability to really tailor exercises to what the individual needs, which isn’t always possible to the same extent in a group setting. I will be looking to start 1:1 sessions from June/July 2026, where I will use the Mat, Reformer and Barrel repertoire, incorporating the small equipment as well.
